Former Aston Villa forward Jordan Graham is in hospital after a serious road accident earlier this month. The Professional Footballers' Association confirmed the 31-year-old is receiving specialist treatment.
"Earlier this month Jordan Graham was involved in a serious road traffic accident and is currently receiving specialist treatment in hospital," the PFA said in a statement issued on behalf of his family. "His family are incredibly grateful for the care he is receiving."
Graham came through the youth ranks at Aston Villa, signing a two-year professional contract in March 2012. He never made a senior appearance for the club, spending time on loan at Ipswich Town and Bradford City before a permanent move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2015.
His career has been hampered by significant knee injuries, including an Anterior Cruciate Ligament tear while at Wolves and two ruptures of his patella tendon during a spell at Leyton Orient. He left Orient when his contract expired in June 2025 and has been a free agent since.
News of the accident has prompted an outpouring of support from his former clubs. Gillingham, where he enjoyed his most productive spell with 13 goals in 44 games, said: "Everyone at the club is thinking of Jordan and his family at this time. We wish him a full and swift recovery."
Birmingham City, who signed him in 2021, and Leyton Orient also issued statements wishing him well. Ipswich Town, where he had two loan stints, added their support.
Graham's former academy club, Aston Villa, are currently 16th in the Premier League with four points from five games. Unai Emery's side are on a two-game winning run, having beaten Tottenham 3-2 last time out, and face a tough test next against fourth-placed Brentford.
