Fans gathered outside Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on Friday, creating a vibrant atmosphere before an upcoming Audi Football Summit match between Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and English Premier League side Aston Villa. The area was transformed into a sea of red as passionate groups of fans from different cities in China celebrated the event.
Bayern Munich fan clubs from Hong Kong and major cities such as Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Dalian were among those present. Zhu Junru, captain of the Chengdu Bayern Munich Fan Club, shared that over 100 members had travelled specifically for this match. He elaborated on their preparations, stating they began planning almost two months in advance upon receiving news about the fixture.
Zhu noted that many supporters took different modes of travel to reach Hong Kong. Some individuals booked their own tickets, while a group of them flew together as part of an organized fan club effort. This collective approach ensured safety and enhanced the experience for all attendees, especially considering the sizeable contingent from Chengdu who had flown in on Thursday.
The event highlighted the strong support for Bayern Munich among football enthusiasts across China, with their fans outnumbering those supporting Aston Villa at the stadium.
