The 23-year-old England star has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea's recruiter Joe Shields having a long-standing history with Rogers. Despite the Blues' struggles last season, those close to Villa 'expect them to push again this summer' to sign the talented midfielder. Meanwhile, Newcastle United are said to be keen on 19-year-old full-back Jorge Salinas, who has excelled in the second tier of Spanish football. The Magpies had a largely underwhelming 2025/26 season, which saw them fail to win a trophy and finish all the way down in 12th in the Premier League. They'll be looking to get their recruitment spot-on this summer, and fresh reports from Portugal suggest Racing Santander's interest in Salinas has captured their attention. The report namechecks the Magpies alongside a host of European clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, as sides apparently keen on the young talent. No mention is made of any club making a move just yet, nor is it specified where the player may wish to go. It looks to be very early days on this one. Newcastle are said to have an interest, but so are another half a dozen clubs. The Magpies have started to branch into signing talented youngsters, which is a bracket Salinas very much fits into, but if he were to be purchased it seems unlikely that he'd be a first team regular straight away.
