Aston Villa risk losing more key players this summer Aston Villa are facing a potential crisis after already selling Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans and Lucas Digne this summer. Now, Ezri Konsa and Emiliano Martinez could also leave, threatening Unai Emery's squad depth ahead of the new Premier League season. Villa finished 4th last season with 65 points (19W-8D-11L), but losing more starters could derail their ambitions. ## Which players could leave next? Former Villa scout Mick Brown warned Football Insider that Emery risks losing the 'spine' of his team. Konsa is heavily linked with Arsenal, while Martinez remains a target for Juventus. Brown said: 'Aston Villa are in serious danger of losing their goalkeeper, centre-back, left-back, central midfielder and attacking midfielder. That's the spine of the team.' ## Why are these departures concerning? The sales of Tielemans and Digne came as surprises due to release clauses, while Chelsea's fee for Rogers was too good to refuse. But losing more key players would weaken Emery's squad significantly. Villa scored 56 goals last season but conceded 49. Losing Martinez and Konsa could make their defence even more vulnerable. ## What does this mean for Villa's future? Emery is reportedly reluctant to lose more players but may have little choice if big offers arrive. With Onana currently sidelined, Villa need stability ahead of their next fixture against Chelsea on 19 December. Brown added: 'If they lose these players, don't be surprised to see them drop like a stone.'
